See our detailed review of the OutdoorMaster Shark 2 pump to learn more.

The OutdoorMaster Shark 2 SUP Pump is one of the top sellers online. It can inflate SUP’s up to 20 psi. It has built in cooling that allows it to inflate several boards in a row without taking a break. It can reliably inflate at least 3 boards in a row on the average summer day. After 3 you might need to let it cool a bit depending on how hot the day is.

It includes 4 adapters that let it work with almost any paddle board available today. It includes 4 adapters that let it work with almost any paddle board available today. You can also use it for an inflatable kayak, inflatable watercraft, pool toys, or other inflatables.

The pump has 2 stages. The first stage inflates the board quickly to 3-4psi. After that, the second stage inflates slower up to your final pressure.

The pump is very easy to use. Just set the pressure and let it go. It has a digital pressure gauge so you can see how inflated your isup is. It auto stops when the board gets to your desired pressure. It can deflate too but deflation does not have an auto stop so you have to watch it.

Our only real complaints with this pump are it’s size and weight. If your keeping it in your car this isn’t a problem. If your carrying it in your backpack any kind of distance, than it’s 3.6 lb weight will feel heavy quick.

If you want a good reliable paddle board pump, the OutdoorMaster Shark 2 is a great choice.

  • Max PSI – 20 PSI
  • Weight – 3.6 lbs
  • Cord – 9 foot – 12 volt car outlet
  • Air hose length – 4.5 feet
  • Adapters – H3 (Halkey Roberts), Boston, C7, Round, Cone

iRocker 12volt electric pump product image
  • It will fit all NAUTICAL, iROCKER & BLACKFIN Inflatable Paddle Boards
  • Fast Inflation – Quickly inflates your paddle board up to 20 PSI and deflate when you are finished.
  • Lightweight and Compact – Has an onboard cord storage compartment
  • 3 inflation modes – Auto, high pressure and low pressure
  • 12 volt or battery power – Connects via cigarette lighter or alligator clips direct to a 12V battery. An optional battery is available to use it away from your car

The iRocker 12 Volt Electric Pump is the kind of product you have come to expect from iRocker. It is well made and reliable with a bit of innovation to go with it. It can inflate 1 to 2 boards up to 20 PSI and can deflate as well.

This pump has 3 inflation modes. It has the typical auto mode. It switches from low to high pressure modes and cuts off at the target pressure. It has a high mode and low mode. Low mode is for things like a kayak that only inflate to 1 psi. The High mode is for small inflatables below 50 liter volume that need to inflate to over 1 psi. For most paddle boards you will use the standard Auto mode and ignore the rest.

Inflation speed is fast. It inflates just a tad slower than the OM Shark 2. It does need to take a 20-30 minute rest after inflating 2 boards to slow down. That is the one area where the Shark wins out if you need to regularly inflate several boards.

The pump has a nice cord storage compartment built into the side. When not in use you don’t have to deal with the cord mess. They include an alligator clip adapter so you can hook it directly to your car battery.

It has a carry handle on the side. This is a bit of a miss. The rubber feet are on the bottom. When you pick the pump up by the handle and set it down you scuff up the opposite side which doesn’t have the feet.

It comes with a standard inflation hose. It only comes with an H3 (Halkey Roberts) valve. That valve covers most paddle boards. If you need a different valve you will need to buy a different hose and set of valves. The air hose size is a standard size and easy to get replacements.

There is an available battery so you can use the pump away from your car or truck. It is nice $55 option you can get when buying the pump from iRocker. If I was buying this pump I would get it.

The pump does not include a carrying case or carrying bag. This is a bit of a miss considering the cost. Other high end SUP electric pumps miss in this area too.

Overall this is a great pump for someone who only needs to inflate 1 or 2 boards. The onboard cord storage and inflation modes are nice extras to make it stand out.

  • Max PSI – 20 psi
  • Weight – 4.2 lbs
  • Cord – 10 ft 12volt car outlet plus an alligator clip adapter
  • Air hose length – 4 feet
  • Adapters – Includes 4 adapters

This electric pump has all the features you need. This includes digital pressure setting, auto cutoff, and overheat protection.

This pump only comes with an H3 Halkey Roberts fitting. It won’t work with paddle boards that use other air valves. The Halkey Roberts valve is the most common on inflatable paddle boards so it will work for most boards.

This pump gets the job done inflating boards. It is louder and slower than the top performing OutdoorMaster and Seamax pumps. It is available for a much lower cost too. It also has a shorter air hose and no alligator clips.

If you are looking for a low cost pump that can still inflate to 20psi this is a good choice. It is best value pick for paddle board electric pump.

  • Weight – 4.27 lbs

The OutdoorMaster Whale Rechargeable SUP Pump is great for those who need to inflate boards away from their car. It has a built in 6000mah Li-Ion battery with enough charge to inflate more than 1 paddle board.

This pump can use the built in battery or a 12 volt car out making it incredibly versatile. The only real downside is it’s on the heavy side. It weighs close to 7 lbs. If you need to hike some distance with your board before inflating it, you will notice the extra weight.

Its electric pump can inflate at least 2 boards on a charge. If you have smaller volume boards you might be able to get 3. If you have a whole stack of boards to inflate bringing along a hand pump isn’t a bad idea. The pump has a built in active cooling fan similar to the popular Shark Pump. It can pump more than one board without overheating.

This pump has a top pressure limit of 16psi. It will work with most inflatable SUP boards out there. If you have a board that needs 20 psi you will have to do the last bit yourself. It inflates a board in 10 to 15 minutes which is average for most electric SUP pumps.

It includes 5 pump fittings plus a few spacers. If your board has other fittings you can’t use it. It can cover almost any inflatable with the included adapters
Overall this is a great pump for those who want the convenience of a rechargeable pump and don’t mind the extra weight. The OutdoorMaster Whale is our top pick for the best rechargeable SUP pump.

  • Max PSI – 16 psi
  • Weight – 7 lbs
  • Cord – 6000mah rechargable battery and 9 foot – 12 volt car outlet
  • Air hose length – 4.5 feet

Serenelife rechargeable pump rating
What we liked
  • Convenient rechargable pump
  • Inflates as fast as non-rechargable electric pumps
  • Can inflate more than one board on a charge
What we didn’t like
  • The pump is heavy at almost 7 lbs
  • High cost

5 – NIXY Ventus Stand Up Paddleboard Electric Pump

  • ACTIVE COOLING TECHNOLOGY – Most powerful SUP electric pump with unique Active Cooling Technology up to 20PSI, allows inflation up to 10 boards without stopping.
  • FAST & POWERFUL DUAL STAGE – Easily inflates most Paddleboards in under 10 minutes
  • LCD DIGITAL DISPLAY – Easily select desired PSI (1-20)/ BAR (0.34-1.379) and monitor the pressure in real time with the backlit LCD display.
  • 12V DC CAR CONNECTOR – Connect the pump to your car or portable battery pack with 10 ft 12V DC connector.
  • HIGH-QUALITY CARRYING BAG – Comes with a compact high-quality bag with a front pocket and an internal pouch for the optional battery pack.

The Nixy Ventus Electric SUP Pump is another good option if you need to pump up several boards in a row. The manufacturer claims it can pump up to 10 boards in a row. It has a separate cooling fan like the OutdoorMaster Shark 2 pump to keep it from overheating.

This pump has a lot of good features besides being able to pump up several boards. It comes with a really nice carrying bag. The bag has a nice handle and has room to fit all the accessories and an optional battery pack. You won’t need to find a bag or carry the pump around in the box it came in.

It has a nice cord organizer built into the bottom. The cord can wrap around it and there is a hole for the 12 volt plug. No messy cords hanging from this pump. An alligator clip adapter is included so you aren’t limited to a 12 volt outlet. Sometimes it’s easier to hook your pump directly to the car battery then the nearest 12 volt outlet.

This pump can inflate boards up to 20 psi. It can do several boards in a row. The hose will eventually get really hot. When this happens you should let it rest for a few minutes. The pump includes 7 adapters so you can pump up almost any inflatable board, water toy, kayak, etc.. with it. It is not the fastest pump out there. It takes at least 10 minutes to inflate an average size SUP board. If you are pumping several boards, that is a few minutes extra per board which adds up.

The pump has a nice easy to read display that is backlit. It shows both the board pressure and target pressure. After hitting go you don’t have to wonder if you set it to the correct pressure or not.

Overall this is a good pump. The carry bag and cord organizer are nice features every pump should have. Our only real complaint is that it takes a long time to pump up a board.

  • Max PSI – 20 psi

  • Seamax SUP20D PRO Signature Edition air pump is an upgraded version in our SUP pumps family. Programmed intelligent proactive digital controller, voltage sensor, temperature sensor, and overheat protection for managed dual stage inflation.
  • 1st stage max speed 350L/min; 2nd stage max speed 70L/min. Real time pressure monitoring and auto stop once selected pressure reached

  • Super light weight 4Lbs and Dimension only 10”x7”x7” with easy carry handle. Perfect handy size for pumping boats, SUPs and Paddleboards.

The Seamax SUP20D is one of the best and fastest electric pumps available today. It comes with a variety of pump fittings so it will work with almost any inflatable paddle board. It can also deflate your paddle board.

Seamax is a newcomer to the SUP market. They are a well respected established brand when it comes to inflatable boats. They are a Candian company out of British Columbia.

The pump can inflate the average inflatable paddle board in 6 to 8 minutes. Most electric pumps need 10 to 15 minutes. This makes it one fast electric pump.

It has many features such as auto-shutoff and a built in sand filter. It has overheat protection. If you try to inflate too many paddleboards at once on a hot day. It will shut off after 20 minutes for cooling. If it overheats you can run the pump without the hose attached to cool the motor.

The Seamax pump is the best paddle board pump available if you just need to inflate 1 paddle board at a time. It can’t inflate multiple boards like the OutdoorMaster Shark. It can inflate one board faster.

  • Max PSI – 20 psi
  • Weight – 4 lbs
  • Cord – 9 foot – 12 volt car outlet + alligator clips
  • Air hose length – 4 feet
  • Adapters – H3 (Halkey Roberts), C7, Round, Cone

Seamax SUP20D pump rating
What we liked
  • Fast inflation thanks to the 2 stage pump
  • Sand filter on pump air intake
  • Quieter than other electric SUP pumps
What we didn’t like
  • Short air inflation hose
  • Noisy 2nd stage

7 – Airhead SUP Velocity Pump

  • Inflate isups 33% faster than any other portable pump
  • Single stage high pressure/ high volume Inflation
  • Alligator clips and 10′ (3M) cable for direct battery connection
  • Auto shut-off, just dial in the pressure from 1 – 20 PSI
  • Includes mesh storage bag

The Airhead SUP Velocity is simple, fast, and reliable. It is a single stage pump that inflates boards to full pressure without switching to a second stage. It can inflate boards quickly in 5 to 7 minutes.

The pump performs well and can inflate boards in the time it claims. Some caution is needed. You select air pressure on the dial on top and it turns off when it gets to that pressure. There is no pressure gauge to let you know how inflated it is while it’s working. You may want to check the pressure with your manual pump and don’t inflate right to max psi.

It uses heavy duty alligator clips to attach to a car battery for power. It does not have a 12 volt car outlet. It uses up to 20 amps current while inflating. Most 12 volt car outlets have a 9 or 15 amp fuse. This pump will blow the fuse if you did try to use it in a 12 volt car outlet instead of hooking it directly to a 12v battery.

The pump, power cord, and air hose are built to withstand heat well. It can be used to inflate several boards in a row without overheating.

There is no deflate function with this. For the price one would expect it to be able to deflate as well as inflate.

A variety of fittings are included. It can be used to inflate almost any SUP, kayak, or pool toy out there.

Overall the Airhead SUP Velocity pump is a good reliable fast SUP pump. It has good inflation times but lacks a pressure gauge and deflate function.

  • Max PSI – 20 psi
  • Weight – 5 lbs
  • Cord – 10 ft with alligator clips
  • Air hose length – 4 feet
  • Adapters – H-Valve, Leafield C7, SSV & mini SSV Adaptors

Airhead SUP velocity pump rating

What we liked

What we liked

  • Simple dial for pressure setting
  • Fast inflation times
What we didn’t like
  • No pressure gage
  • No deflate function

8 – Sevylor SUP and Water Sport Electric Pump

  • 12V portable air pump is great to keep on a boat or in the car
  • High-pressure pump inflates up to 15 psi for rigid SUP boards
  • Adjustable auto-shutoff stops the pump once the selected pressure is reached
  • Low-pressure extension hose and adapters included for low-pressure inflatables
  • Unit select button lets you choose from psi, kPa, and mbar

The Sevylor SUP and Water Sport Electric Pump is one of the cheapest electric SUP pumps out there. It currently sells on Amazon for just over $50. This makes it less than half the price of some of the pumps out there. As with most things in life you get what you pay for.

This pump has a max pressure of 15 psi. If you have a higher pressure board it won’t work. It is only a single stage pump. It doesn’t have a high volume pump that works up to about 1 psi and then a high pressure pump that takes over. The single stage inflation rate is a bit of a compromise between volume and pressure. It will inflate a smaller board with a max pressure of 12 psi really fast. It will take an eternity to inflate a larger board with 15 psi max pressure.

The accessories on this pump are not the greatest. The inflation hose has a known failure point where the hose is glued to the nozzle. Several users have used silicone tape to reinforce or repair it after it breaks. They have gone on to use the pump for a long time after doing that. Don’t expect a high quality heavy duty air hose with a $50 electric pump.

The pump has a nice digital display that can show pressure in PSI or Bar.
Overall this is a good pump if you don’t want to spend a lot and you don’t have a large board to inflate. Once you’ve gotten a taste of not hand pumping your board you will probably want something better.

  • Max PSI – 15 psi
  • Weight – 3.6 lbs
  • Cord – 13 ft 12volt car outlet
  • Air hose length – 4 feet
  • Adapters – H3 (Halkey Roberts) valve

Sevylor pump rating
What we liked
  • Low cost
  • Can quickly pump up small low pressure boards
What we didn’t like
  • It takes a long time to inflate larger boards to max pressure
  • The air hose has poor durability

Helpful Tips for inflating your paddle board

Inflating your paddle board is a simple and easy task. It gets much easier if you use an electric pump. There are a few things to remember when blowing up your inflatable SUP. Here are a few tips for inflating your paddle board with an electric pump.

Don’t over inflate your inflatable SUP

Nothing will kill your inflatable SUP faster than over inflating it. If you put too much air in you can do permanent damage. If the air pressure inside is too high, the seams or drop-stitch threads may separate or break. If you break a seam you might be able to repair it using repair tape. If you break the drop-stitch threads, the SUP board will no longer hold it’s shape and it’s not repairable. If you see a lump in the board or other deformed shape, there is a good chance you broke some drop-stitch threads.

Inflate on a blanket or tarp

Concrete, gravel, rocks, brush, and debris on the ground can scratch or puncture your board. To keep your iSUP looking new you should put down a tarp or blanket to inflate it on. This will keep it from getting scratches or damage while inflating. Keep a blanket or tarp in the back of your car to use when inflating your board.

Check the pump before inflating another board – is it cool enough

Overheating can damage an electric SUP pump. Most pumps are good for 1 or 2 boards before they need to cool down. Before hooking your SUP electric pump up to another board, feel how hot it is. It should not be burning to the touch. Most pumps have an overheat protection built in, but not all. Check for this in the SUP pump manual before using it.
